The pharmacists at Medication Info BC believe in empowering the public with medication information to enable the public to make informed choices.

 

Rola Khalil-Priatel

Rola Khalil-Priatel is a pharmacist and the director of Med Info BC.  She lectures at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC and she sits on panel discussions with other health professionals.  She obtained the Therapeutic Outcome Monitoring for Asthma Certification from the University of Florida.  Her other areas of specialty are Osteoporosis and Women’s Health. She appears on radio and television shows like the Dr. Art Hister “House Calls” radio show.  She also provides presentations and training to pharmacists in her areas of expertise. 
Anar Dossa

Anar Dossa has been practicing as a clinical pharmacist for over 10 years.   Currently, she works part-time at BC SMILE and at Vancouver General Hospital.  She is also involved in community based research.  In 1998/99 she worked as a consultant to the Excellence in Health Research Project where she worked with physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health-care professionals to help reduce re-admission rates of seniors discharged from hospital.  Anar also works at the VGH diabetes clinic and teaches diabetes education to pharmacy residents.

Melanie Johnson

After Melanie Johnson obtained her degree in Pharmacy from UBC she completed a residency in community pharmacy.  She was hired as a drug information specialist at Med Info in 1997.  Her interests include gastoenterology, herbal medicine, and asthma management.  She has given presentations on a variety of medication related topics to seniors groups, pharmacists and pharmacy students.  Melanie is completing her Doctor in Pharmacy designation and also works at the Drug and Poison Info Center at St Paul’s Hospital.
