About The Courses
Pharmacy 479
This is one of four required experiential rotations in the undergraduate curriruclum. Phar 479 is an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) that occurs in either Term 1 or Term 2 in Year 4. It is a 320 consecutive hour rotation in the community setting. The focus of this rotation is comprehensive pharmacy care and to further reinforce the necessary skills for students to transition into practice upon licensure.
Pharmacy 469
This is one of four required experiential rotations in the undergraduate curriculum. Phar 469 is a pharmacy clerkship that occurs at the end of Year 2. It is a 160 consecutive hour rotation in the community setting. Students will be provided with the opportunity to develop the skills and attitudes needed to provide effective pharmaceutical care to a variety of patients.
Pharmacy 453B 013
This is a Directed Studies in Professional Practice - Community Service Learning. Service learning is the process of involving students in community activities and providing them with opportunities. Reflection is a key component to allow students to grow as an individual and as a professional, to advance civic awareness and civic responsibility. This elective pharmacy course provides a unique 2-semester opportunity for Year 1 pharmacy students.
