An M.Sc. student will complete most of the graduate courses offered in the particular field of research. If a course relevant to the student’s field of research is offered by other Faculties, preference should be given for such a course over a course that is offered by the Division if the latter is less relevant to the student’s field of research. Candidates for a Ph.D. who have not taken these courses must achieve an equivalent academic level during their first two years of study as determined by the candidate’s research committee.
Course offerings and outlines can be found online (www.students.ubc.ca). You can also register online. For any problems with registering for courses, contact the Faculty’s Graduate Office.
