You can get involved in research by volunteering to work in a lab. In order to do this you must have a faculty member who agrees to take you on as a volunteer - you can contact any of the faculty members who have submitted applications to take a Summer Student Research Program student, or you can talk to other faculty members whose research interests you. If you cannot work full time in a research environment, then this might be a good option for you.
